Vinnitsa Travel Guide

 Vinnitsa is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine. Also town known by a variety of names: Vinnytsia, Vinnytsya and Vinnica. The area of the city is 60 square kilometers. The population of Vinnitsa city is around 400 thousand people.

 More than 600 years, Vinnytsia is located on the picturesque banks of the Southern Bug River and only about 3 hours drive south-west of the Kiev.

 History of Vinnitsa - this is part of the history of right bank in Ukraine. It is inextricably linked with the historical development entire Ukrainian nation, its economy, culture, with its struggle against foreign invaders.

 Vinnytsia is also famous for its many Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant churches, cathedrals and other equally nice historical places.

 Since the end of World War II, Vinnytsya has been the home for a major Air Force base, including an airfield, a hospital, arsenals, and other military installations.

 Today Vinnytsa - this is one of the largest industrial and cultural city of Ukraine and the center of Vinnitsa region.
