Historical museum in Chernigov

 Chernihiv Historical Museum Tarnovsky - one of the oldest and richest museums in Ukraine and is open to visitors since 1902. The museum has a long and complicated path of development. In 1925, the association is the historical museum of the Chernigov province of a scientific committee and the diocesan archival repository of antiquities Chernigov diocese.

 November 27, 1991, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the museum was returned to the name of Chernihiv Historical Museum Tarnovsky. In the historical museum now has three separate exhibitions: Museum of History, National Museum of Decorative Arts Chernigov and military-historical museum. The museum's collection includes more than 170 thousand exhibits and has not regional, and significance for Ukraine.
