Andriyivskyy Descent is one of the best known historic streets and a major tourist attraction in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. It is often advertised as the Montmartre of Kiev.

One of the oldest Kiev district is Podol which lies along the Dniper River. Many years ago Podol was a district of sales and craftsmen. Main city port was situated on Podol area, where ships were loaded with goods. Nowadays Podol is one of the most popular district for the tourists and one of the most prestige areas in Kiev.

St. Sophia Cathedral was founded in 1037 by Yaroslav Mudriy (Yaroslav the Wise). By the legend the cathedral was built right in the place were Yaroslav Mudriy gained a victory over heathen pechenegs. The cathedral has been constructing for more than 10 years by Old Russian and Byzantine art masters.

The history of the Kiev Zoo starts from 1908 when Nature Lovers Society founded it. At the beginning Kiev Zoo was financed by the private donations and experienced hard period of time. At the first period of time Zoo couldn’t boast a large amount of animals – there were only 17 kinds.
