Kirovograd - a city in Ukraine, the administrative center of Kirovograd region. Kirovograd population is approximately 250 thousand inhabitants. The city is situated on a hill in the valley of the Dnieper River Ingul (tributary of the Southern Bug) at the confluence of the rivers it Sugokleya and Bianco.
Kirovograd city was founded in 1754, Russia's troops as a fortress of St. Elizabeth, New Russia defending against the attacks of the Turks and Crimean Tatars.
In Soviet times the area of the city has increased considerably in size. Two administrative districts divide the city, this is the Kirov and Lenin.
